MDS/SignUp is an automated computer reservation and management software that circumvents typical reservation challenges by providing fair, equitable access to PACs – (Public Access Computers) for everyone, including Administrators, Professors, Faculty and Staff. With SignUp, users simply reserve a PAC (or a block of PACs) in advance via a centrally located “Reservation Kiosk” or you can even enable users to perform this via a WEB Based interface, therefore enabling only those users with reservations to log onto the particular computer that was designated during their creation of the reservation.

With so many users vying for access to a limited number of computers, Public Libraries, Higher Education Libraries and Campus Computer Labs staff must often contend with arguments, frustrated users / students, and lost time dealing with these issues. These challenges are magnified during busy times such as after school hours for our Public Library customers or mid-terms and finals “crunch” times for our Educational Institutions. Additional capability to provide automated access to blocks of Computers ensures administrators, teachers and professors have the resources their students need to complete their class work, and without making other students feel as if they were treated unfairly.

Administrators / Circulation Staff no longer have to “police” users to see if they have exceeded the amount of time that your institution allows for each Computer user as MDS/SignUp Software will do it automatically; thus creating a fair and equitable amount of usage for each patron!
